Ballet Suedois Costume Design (Series)
Unknown
1920s
A series of designs, originally rendered in chalk, for the Ballet Suedoise in Paris. This piece is of the avant-garde style, comparable to structuralists such as Lavinski, Rodchencko and Malevitch, all of who were working in Russia in the early 1920s.
Between 1920-5, the Ballet Suedoise was the apogee of Parisian culture. Their revolutionary avant-garde performances and costumes were considered the height of modernity. Other notable artists who designed for them include Paul Colin, Fernand Leger and Jean Cocteau.

Our frames are fitted with an FSC timber sub-frame, providing stability and longevity to the outer frame and glass.
Your frame is designed to be hung using the split batten method (hanging guide here). This enables your frame to sit flush against the wall. If you would prefer the more traditional option of D-rings and picture wire instead, please leave a note for us at the cart when you place the order.
