A ceiling design drawing for St Saviour’s Church, Colgate in Sussex by architect Gordon M Hills. The Bishop of Chichester suggested Hills to act as architect as he was considered a ‘sound fellow and a devoted servant of the church’. Whilst studying monastic ruins in Devon, Hills was Inspired by the roof of St Nectan in Hartland and included the same gold stars on a sky blue background design to decorate the roof of the Colgate chancel, in response to this.
This drawing was originally given as a present to reward a favour between friends, in place of the suggested ‘pair of Levi jeans’ by the recipient.

This is an archival giclée print on Hahnemühle Hemp 290 gsm fine art paper, made from 60% sustainable hemp fibre.

All prints are framed edge-to-edge as standard within a narrow-profiled box frame, with discreet spacers separating the print from the glass to create a clean, contemporary presentation.
