Erotische Architektur II
1969
Zünd-Up was an architectural collective founded in Vienna in 1967 by students Timo Huber, Bertram Mayer, Walter Michael Pühringer, Hermann Simböck and Marcella Ertl who were studying at the Technische Hochschule. The name derives from the English verb ‘to burn up’ indicating the collective’s desire to ‘set fire’ to the university institution and the bourgeois society that they wanted to rally against.
Influenced by the student riots in Paris in 1968, Viennese Actionism and the films of Otto Muhl, Zünd-Up worked on projects which combined architecture, politics and the relationship between humans and technology.
“With this simple play on a clichéd pornographic photo, Zünd-Up succeeded in making a comment on modern architecture’s fascination with technology,” says writer Erik Wegerhoff.

Our frames are fitted with an FSC timber sub-frame, providing stability and longevity to the outer frame and glass.
Your frame is designed to be hung using the split batten method (hanging guide here). This enables your frame to sit flush against the wall. If you would prefer the more traditional option of D-rings and picture wire instead, please leave a note for us at the cart when you place the order.
