Superstudio

1972

Superstudio was an avante-garde architecture and design collective founded in Florence in 1962. Using collage and speculative imagery, they challenged conventional ideas of architecture and urban space.

This montage plate forms part of The Story of Meteorites, a series inspired by the group’s visit to Meteor Crater in 1972, where architecture is imagined as something cosmic and symbolic rather than purely functional. 

In their words: “a ‘tale of love’, in which Architecture is born in the crater where the avatar of Superstudio meets the cosmic force of the meteor ”.

The original work is held by Drawing Matter, an organisation that explores the role of drawing in architectural thought and practice. We have collaborated with them to bring highlights from their extraordinary collection to a wider audience. Explore Drawing Matter here. 

This is an archival giclée print on Hahnemühle Hemp 290 gsm fine art paper, made from 60% sustainable hemp fibre.

All prints are framed edge-to-edge as standard within a narrow-profiled box frame, with discreet spacers separating the print from the glass to create a clean, contemporary presentation.

Alternative mounting styles, specialist glazing, and other bespoke specifications can also be provided on request.

Lead Times

Our framed prints are made to order, and lead times vary depending on framing specification, workshop schedules, material availability or bespoke requests. If timings are critical, please contact us before placing an order.

Unframed prints: approximately 3–7 working days

Framed prints: approximately 2–4 weeks

We deliver throughout the UK, most of Europe including Scandinavia, and North America. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout where applicable.
